On this episode of The Treehouse Show, we dive into a hilarious study revealing just how many soccer fans believe they could compete at an elite level. Are sports fans completely delusional, or are professional athletes making things look too easy? Dan delivers his classic American perspective on soccer, flopping, and why some people still can't take the sport seriously.
We also cover the latest celebrity birthdays, which somehow leads us into a debate about Marvel's Eternals. Was it one of the biggest MCU disappointments ever, or does it deserve a second chance?
And we get into Dan's fear of black ones.

So that's coming up today. And first up, we are starting with delusions of grandeur. Usually this is where I have to throw my brethren under the bus. When it comes to male female men.
25 Are usually the ones who are more delusional, especially when it comes to our own. Efficiencies and things. We've talked before about how I believe over half of men think they can land a commercial jet airliner during an emergency with help you know, from air traffic control and everything. And also many men think that we could hit a major league fastball. Say what, I will say that back in my playing days, I probably had that delusion.
08 However, considering that. Was like twenty five years ago and it was rare for major league pitchers to hit one hundred miles an hour. Now it's basically the norm. Oh, that doesn't matter. Hitting a major league pitch in general is generally considered probably the hardest thing to do. Yes, And that's why I think in that particular study it very specifically said major league fastball, because you ain't hitting a major league knuckleball. Branded those are rare, but you're also not hitting chances are a major league sinker, a major league slider, curveball, slurve, knuckle, curve, forkball, whatever they're throwing at.
54 You, you're probably not going to hit it. If you do touch it, it might be out of blind luck that you started your swing five minutes before the pitcher started his wind up and you happen to put the bat in the right area. I'll throw a wrinkle on this real quick before I get into the meat of this. Do you think you'd have a better chance at hitting back. In the day. A Randy Johnson fastball or a Greg Maddox fastball because Randy Johnson was usually in the upper nineties, but it was a lefty. He had some movement, but not like Greg Maddox's eighty seven mile per hour, always moving around the strike zone.
41 But the reason Randy Johnson was so dominating was also he was so tall and his pitch came from an angle so high. Neither when Randy Johnson pitched it looked like it was the right fielder throwing it right. Greg Maddox was so dimining. He he's like somebody, he's, you know, boring uncle on the mound. But he would put spin on that ball like no one. Who oh yeah, yeah. Now if you really if you put a gun to my head and said, okay, pick one. Only reason I would say Greg Maddox is because a lot of his pitches were intended for you to ground out. I'm with you if I same thing you put a gun to my because I don't I'm not gonna be able to really hit either one.
24 Oh no, it's absolutely not. But if you're forcing me, you've kidnapped me and said I'm gonna make you face one of these two pictures, give me Greg Maddox, because I know that he knows where that ball is going every single time. Randy Johnson was a little bit of an X factor. Occasionally he didn't. Well, you're talking about two pictures, pictures that major league hitters couldn't hit. So yeah, Randy, I'm pretty sure John Cruck is still afraid of Randy Johnson. I don't know if you'll ever find them sitting side by side at a card signing convention. And you know, pigeons aren't going anywhere near Randy Johnson. So anyway, whatever that percentages, a number of men still very wrongly believe that we could hit a major league fastball.
08 That maybe in the sixties I might have had a shot, but definitely not by and I mean when I was much younger and could roll out of bed without. Strings, not in the nineteen sixties. Got it. Yeah, So many men think they could hit at least one major league fastball or even beat a professional female tennis player. Jeezus. So that's so dumb. And it also seems like the same subset of men think the same way about soccer. In a new poll of two thousand soccer fans, over a third thing they could score, not just a regular goal in a World Cup match, but a game winning penalty kick in the World Cup, and over twenty percent think they could give the keeper the eyes and trick the goalie into diving the wrong way. Continuing on this same soccer stupidity, over sixteen percent believe they would save at least one penalty kick if they were goalie, because they're thinking, you know, I just got to guess the right way and it'll hit me.
27 That's got to be their thinking. I mean, there is there are there no bounds to our delusions. Clearly not. Did Jesus Christ, I, honest to God, think I would have a better chance at landing that commercial jet plane in an emergency, then I would beating a professional female tennis player. Then I would hitting a major league fastball. There is no chance in hell I would ever be able to score a game winning penalty kick in the World Cup. Of all three of those that you've mentioned, the returning the tennis serve is the closest that I might be able to do. But that's still gonna be with with with shorts full of poop when Serena Williams shows up, because.
09 It's not returning a serve, it's. Beating Yeah, oh, actually winning the whole. Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, good old fashioned Battle of the sex is Billy jen King versus not Martin Riggs. That's lethal weapon, Bobby Riggs, Bobby Riggs. Although Martin Riggs from lethal weapon versus Billy Jen King, that would have been an interesting match. Yeah. No, you're we're we're not going to beat a professional female tennis player. At best, maybe get a piece of a return serve. It may not go where you want it, but at best you might have a shot to touch the ball. You couldn't beat a D one college tennis player.
49 I don't think I could beat a D two or three. If that even exists. It's probably I probably, you know, not even a high school champ. Full disclosure. Before I played football, I had to usions of grandeur. I was like, it's seventh grade. I'm a baseball player. I don't have interest in playing football. But I was really big into Andrea Agassy and Pete Sampers. I was like, you know what, why the hell not, I'm gonna go try for the tennis team. They couldn't get me off that court fast enough. The football coaches from the field next to the tennis court were like, what are you doing? Over there. Get your ass over here. They made me leave the tennis tryout to just go suit up and play football. They're like, no, you're not doing it. That's just stupid. Get over here. Yeah. The Major League fastball thing is I was pretty good when I was When I was playing baseball, I was pretty good batter. I could switch, you know, left hand, right hand. I was pretty good. No, No, that never would have happened, not even at my best now.
46 I think I think the fastest I think the fastest fastball I ever faced was upper eighties, probably the same and the only reason I got a piece of that is because I caught him out a change up. So it dropped down to about mid seventies, and I was like, oh, look at me. Go. So, yeah, a lot of us just have these crazy delusions. It doesn't seem like any one of us are anywhere near these delusions. Trey, You're not gonna kick a game winning goal in the World Cup. No. I mean my first sport was soccer. I I wish I'd probably stayed with it, but you know, especially at that time, you know, there was no God, there was no professional soccer really in the United States. I mean, there was just it wasn't the cool thing to do, and you know you weren't seeing Premier League games on TV.
41 But no, I most people in that pressure. It's like the same thing. People. The other delusion is I could make that putt and you know, especially on like a US Open golf course, No, you couldn't, not even from five feet, not a fucking chance, not with millions of dollars on the line. You would choke. And the same thing, yeah, with a with you know, soccer, the game winner on the line penalty kicks, I I and you you could, you could put job of the hut in the in the net, and you're still most people are gonna miss.
24 It. I love hearing you say that because. Like, like even right now, I'm thinking, I'm just trying to imagine myself standing in front of a goalie World Cup penalty kick situation. I can feel the lactic acid building up in my body right now, I can feel the choke juice building like there's no way I'd even be able to unclinch my feet to move towards the goal. Let's let's keep this in mind if we're really going to be you know, accurate with this, when you're in penalty kicks for the World Cup. Okay, at that point you have played one hundred and twenty minutes of soccer.
05 Most people do not even fathom the physical shape you have to be in to play soccer. To give you some point of reference, if those of you who really don't understand wide receivers in football, if they run a long route, they go to the sideline for air. Those guys are on the field running back and forth a field longer a little bit longer than a football field, for forty five minutes at a time. Thirty minute break, then forty five minutes. Then if you're in penalty kicks, you have done two overtimes. So you have now without a break, been out there for seventy five minutes.
45 You're gassed, you are out of orange slices, there is nothing. And you're gonna yo. So but you have just the leg strength alone. People don't understand. Like a run for multiple mile in a game. When I was in high school and I had acl reconstruction, one of the tests they did to gauge how well your you know, reconstructed me was doing. So they did it's a it was a machine that did a strength test. Now I had very strong legs at the time. My right The reason why my left leg kept failing is my right leg. I beat it. And this is a really old reference, but there used to be a soccer player in Dallas named Tattoo.
27 Uh huh. I beat his scores on my right leg. So my left leg just it wasn't. My left leg was perfectly fine, but it was supposed to be a ratio from like me within fifteen percent of your right leg, your healthy leg, and I was always like like twenty interesting and I even no, no. Those I know because when you stupid, you're right. Because when you when you think about all of it together, when you think about the totality of what it would take just to get to the penalty kick, the final penalty kick in a World Cup match, and thinking you could score is beyond delusional, because like you said, you're talking about having played a one hundred and twenty minutes of soccer, running up and down the field like crazy.
21 I don't even know if I would be able to be physically standing in front of the goal to even make a kick attempt. You would have to defibrillate me. At least twice to get me upright to even try to fall on the ball. And my point with the Tattoo story was he was an indoor soccer player in Dallas. He was not even a Premier League player. He wasn't good enough, that's you know. He he was a very mid soccer player who was just famous in Dallas. Yeah. I think what he indoors wasn't the sidekicks. Yeah, sidekicks? Yeah. No. Tattoo is honestly probably one of the greatest DFW athletes that we have as far as local greatness, because he really, I mean he had titles and goals and championships, but.
09 At the end of the day, it was indoor soccer. Yeah he It wouldn't even you know, the bundes League or anything else, the premium Premier League. It was Americans. I mean, all you have to say is it was American soccer at the time, because thirty years ago that that was you have been about as low of a relegation as you could find. Yeah, because like like the the the the lower tier soccer academies full of twelve year olds in the UK could beat you know, adult American soccer players. Yeah, yeah, twelve you know, as MESSI had a hat trick last night. Oh uh, twelve year old Messi is still He's going to beat you.
53 Handed hard, hard, hard hard. So, according to FIFA, the average soccer player football player runs six to eight miles in a standard forty five minutes game six. Well that's games are ninety minutes. Yeah, okay, so sorry ninety minute yeah sorry, ninety minute match six. Six to eight miles in a ninety minute match. So and then you tackle on it. Like I said, if you're in penalty kicks, you've gone thirty additional minutes, which means so you're you're at eight to ten miles at least. And the goalie the runs.
35 No, You're sprinting up and down, up and down, up. And down, changing directions on a dime, jumping, kicking, fancy footwork, punching. Sometimes no, I will say no, I will say when when it comes to FIFA in the World Cup, I know there's lots of running, there's lots of action, but there's also lots of falling down. And this is still my big grid. Every four I get a little excited about the World Cup and I'm hopeful for our American team, and then I'll watch a couple of games here and there, and I get turned off within about five minutes because of all the flopping FIFA that basically stands for flopping in foreign arenas. It's just a huge turn off for me.
17 And I have friends that grew up playing soccer. We're very good at soccer, and I've tried to have this conversation with him. It's like, there has got to be something done about this. This is this hurts the sport. This, I think flopping is the main Yes, it does. It hurts it absolutely to Americans. It does. That's what I'm saying. You didn't let me finish. It hurts the sport when trying to grow it in America because Europe has pretty much acquiesced there for whatever reason, they're fine with their men flailing around on the turf. In America, though, we seem to have a different standard on that, and that is there's supposed to be some toughness to it, and soccer already is a very tough sport. It's an elegant sport, but it gets tarnished when you have these flopping idiots that look like fish on the pitch instead of adult grown soccer players.
04 And it's a turn off. To the Americans, and that's one of the reasons why it's not as popular as it could be. That has that that has nothing to do with it. Don't you dare minimize my experience trade. That's the reason why I don't like it, and I guarantee you I'm not. It will not and never take off in America simply because the money sports Europe. Every people don't realize how much soccer players make, but in America, MLS players do not make the same as football, basketball, baseball players. And that's always going to be the route, you know. Ultimately, that's what drives people to choose these you know, very tier one athlete. That's what we're gonna drive their choices.
45 But and there is flopping and sometimes it is ridiculous. But there are other times, as we just talked about, as you are running eight, you know, eight to ten miles, six to eight miles, sometimes that flopping is strategic and that you're giving your guys a breather. Find a better way to do it that does not look try, just try. And then there's something like I watched this you know one deal. It was in the Mexico game. It looked very innocuous and these two guys jumped up and they collided within what you realize is one guy hit the other guy just square on the kneecap.
26 Oh that hurts. Now, I'm with you there. I've been hit square on the kneecap like that, and I saw that, and I'm with you. I I felt for that guy because I was like, bro, I've been there. A lot of times like what you're sticking, and they look really innoculous, especially when you you have been running around that much. You get hit in the legs, kicked in the legs. It may look innocuous, but it does hurt. And yes, they're definitely overly dramatic at times, but a lot of times that is strategic just to get everyone a breather. Just pretend you're also you're trying to get You're trying to get that other team a yellow card, You're trying to get a penalty kick, You're trying. I mean, there is some strategy to it.
07 I understand their strategy to it, but I'm saying it sucks and it hurts the sport when trying to get it to spread and be more popular in America. Uh, Like the flopping became such an issue in the NBA. Thank you James Harden that they've cracked down on it so other sports realize. And NFL has some stuff on it now. It's like NBA to tolerate. You're gonna tell me the NBA it now has teams that tank. They just literally take their entire season, you know. So I'm just talking about the flopping. Tanking is bad. You should always go out and try to win. I'm just talking about the flopping when it's when when when you're doing big arms thing, you know, because someone breathed on you and you're trying to draw, Like.
51 That's just the like, how do you how do you look at your family in the eye and go like, oh, yeah, I'm a tough athlete, please you fell down. I actually would respect it more if instead of pretending to be hurt and screaming out, pretending to writhe in pain and then getting the magical socker spray and boop, you pop back up and you're ready to go for another twenty five minutes, just pretend to faint, just be like ah and just fall over and then get back up. I would have a little more respect than that, because at least it's obvious it's clear. No, I'm gonna let you sit in that one. I'm happy to sit in it. I will stew in this ah goddamn day.
32 I hope you pass out. If I do, it'll be honest. It'll be an honest pass out. In the Treehouse business online at freehouse on air dot com. I'm Dan along with Trey and Jerry. Today is. Thursday, June eighteenth, two Thoy twenty six that celebrate today with some birthdays. One of the best known musicians of our time, Paul McCartney, is eighty four today.
27 Wow, he looks He looks good for eighty four. Geez, I'm with you. I'm I because he just he was the musical guest on Saturday Night Live for the season finale and he looked better than Will Ferrell. And Will Ferrell's a good twenty It gotta be a good twenty years younger. Oh yeah, yeah, absolutely so. Happy birthday to Sir Paul McCartney eighty four today. I guess it's just him and Ringo that are left. As far as the living Beatles, is Pete Best the former former Beatle? Is he still kicking? I think so.
07 He was the drummer before Ringo let's see other birthdays today. Blake Shelton turns fifty. One of Oklahoma's most famous dudes. He's fifty years old today, country superstar, former voice coach, and husband of Gwen Stefani. One of the most random. Pairings in romance history. Gwen Stefani, the front lady of No Doubt, Oklahoma, good old boy country singer Blake Shelton, go figure, good for Them. Carol Caine is seventy four. She is best known for Taxi, the Princess Bride. She was also on Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, and she's also the one that kicks the ever loving crap out of Bill Murray in Scrooged, which I believe is Trey's favorite Christmas.
01 It's one of them. Yeah, that's I remember as a kid man, I love that. I mean, I loved the movie already. Even as a kid, I loved the Scrooge. It was so different. But as what Carol Kine's character was the ghost of Christmas past or President President a present. She just beat the ever love and piss out of him. I just thought that was hysterical as a kid and as an adult. So Happy birthday, Carol, Kane seventy four. Actress and model Isabella Rossellini is also seventy four today. She's also a filmmaker. She's daughter of screen legends Ingrid Bergmann and Roberto Rossellini.
43 Richard Madden is forty. This guy is fascinating to me. Richard Madden's an actor. He is best known as Rob Stark in Game of Thrones. He was also in Bodyguard reboot. He was also one of the Eternals in Marvel's Eternals. I said, I'm a fast Huh. They did a reboot of the Bodyguard. I didn't. I haven't seen it, so yeah, I don't know. I don't. I don't even know if it was a movie. Or a show, but yeah, they read it Bodyguard. But he was supposed to be like one of the next IT actors. He was supposed to come out a Game of Thrones because his character didn't live very long. He was supposed to come out of Game of Thrones on fire, and he was in Marvel's Eternals.
24 That movie flopped harder. Than one of the singall players I saw yesterday on TV. And his trajectory is just kind of It's not his fault. It seemed like a talented guy. But it's just like, oh man, those projects, some of those projects didn't turn out as good as I'm sure you had hoped. Jerry, have you gone back? Have you seen Eternals more than once? I've seen bits and pieces of it a second time enough that I've seen it twice, yes. Tray, what about you? Did you ever even see the see it the first time? Yeah, I've actually i've seen it. I'll say one in three quarters.
05 I've still only seen it the one time. I don't feel like I hated it as much as most people did. I liked them, and that's why I feel like I need to go back and rewatch that one. But I also I didn't go into it with really high expectations. Same but I thought it was fine. I made the mistake of having a pretty high bar set when I went to it, because I knew where Marvel was and what they needed to do, and the Eternals had the promise of being able to deliver what they needed, and they tried to cram all three of their movies into a single movie story arc. And that was my biggest problem with it, is that there wasn't enough building of the characters enough of the relationships between them and them and the earth for you to really care all that much at the end and to get it to the level you probably should have.
01 Yeah, I didn't. You know, only Marvel Moody movie I've really just disliked is the Fantastic Four, the newest one. I hated it. To me. That one was just that was okay, it was I really liked it. Yeah, I thought it was artistically shit and just practice it was too artistically and and I like Peedro Pascal, but I just he did not do anything. For me in that role. The It's interesting because like, even even with Marvel's quote unquote magic touch, it doesn't always hit right. And Eternals is one of those Fantastic Four was is debated pretty heavily as far as people. You know, I don't think that many people loved it, but I don't know if that many people hated it hated it, But Eternals was a universal flop despite and both movies despite being loaded on the casting mm hm. Because I remember when they announced Eternals and they announced the asked at one of the you know, comic cons or whatever. I was like, Holy Jesus, that is a that is a sick cast that they have put.
06 Together and then it just didn't you know, didn't do anything, and. Kind kind of same thing with the Fantastic four phenomenal cast, but the story. Was just okay. Anyway. Whose birthday was it? Oh yeah, Richard Madden, he turns forty. Nathan Morris, founding member of Boys to Men he is fifty five today. Happy birthday to him. And Fabian, one of the original teen idols is eighty three. I had to do a double take on that one and realized that was Fabian, not Fabio. Fabio is a little bit younger, and that I know what Fabio looks like Fabian, I don't really know what he was truly from that's I guess too much before our time. And Roger Ebert Today is his birthday, but he passed away in twenty thirteen, so he's no longer with us and tainting our movies and speaking of movies, E G. Marshall, today is his birthday, but he also was deceased. He passed away all the way back in nineteen ninety eight, which makes sense because if he was still alive, he'd be one hundred and twenty two. The reason why I want to bring him up is because he plays one of the grandfathers in Christmas Vacation. He's the one that delivers one of my favorite lines in all of movie history, including Christmas Vacation, which said something because there's lots of good lines in that movie.
29 E G. Marshall is the one grandfather when they're standing in the front yard and Clark is trying to figure out why the lights won't turn on, and Audrey says, well, he worked really hard, Grandpa, and Grandpa says, soda washing machines. That is EG Marshall love. That line gets me every single time. Anytime I hear anybody say somebody worked hard, I hear that man and him saying, so do washing machines. And I hope now forever you think the same when you hear somebody say, oh, so and so works really hard, so do washing machines.
11 I kind of think he had another role that he was really good in and it's kind of the grumpy old man and I can't think of it. Uh he was, uh, he was almost there was a show I can't remember there was. He was. He was on. CBS Radio. Emmy winning actor nar Radio CBS radio mystery theater. And this is a guy who's acting from black and white all the way under color. And there was a show that he did in the sixties. It was a courtroom drama. And the only reason I'm aware of it is because it was brought up in an episode of mad Men and he was on it and I recognized. Him on there.
52 So we have time for a one quick story here. Florida police arrested a man for shooting at their drone while it was busy looking for a bear. Look, this is back to back weeks. I'm not actively seeking out Florida man's stories, and neither is Trey. But when they find us like a drone trying to find a bear in the woods, you just can't ignore some of the stuff that they do. Look, that's that's a falsehood. I actually when I prove stories, the first thing one of the if it has Florida in it, it is much more likely to catch my attention, or at least I'm gonna give it a click.
46 I tried not to, but I'd like, same as you. I'll see the headline, I'll see Florida and be like, Okay, let me see what happened. But my threshold is higher for Florida. Like if a Florida man is arrested for men, that's not interesting enough. Like he's got to go beyond what say a Nebraska man does to really catch my eye because it's just a higher threshold. It's like the different levels of soccer in the world. American soccer is down there with like Nebraska. Man doing stuff. Florida man doing stuff is like English Premier League, you know, Lionel Messi level. It's like, okay, I got expectations here. Like the guy we talked about, I think it was yesterday Trey where Florida Highway Patrol pulled the guy over for going ninety miles an hour. And that wasn't the surprising thing, because that's that's.
36 That's barely a local story in Florida. The added twists came when they approached the vehicle and noticed thirty four open white claws in the passenger seat. That was pretty solid. That picked up some attention, but that still wasn't even the most surprising part of that story. The most surprising part of that story was the fact that he only blew a point one seven to seven despite having thirty four open white Claus in his car. That's the level of Florida that we have to pay attention too. But anyway, a man in Florida was arrested after allegedly firing at a sheriff's office drone. It started as a search for a bear in a South Florida county and of course it ended with a Florida man being arrested because he fired multiple shots from a baby gun at the drone.
26 And the picture is classic a story of three, you know, at least two guys in jeordans and no shirt. It's and croc slides. Yeah, it is quintessential Florida. Like it's kind of like it's hard for something to be a stereotype if it keeps proving to be true. Like I saw the photo and I didn't even need to see where it was taken there. You know a lot of times stereotypes started in some sense of reality and then they got taken too far, right, not all, but it's a lot of times.
08 And this one, this one holds up though, Yeah, that does. And it's actually so you got there's there's three main guys in the photo, two or shirtless. One is wearing a basketball jersey. There is a fourth guy on the bottom edge, but he is also shirtless. Which it also Then it begs the question what kind of bear were they looking for? Grizzly or glitter? The lack of shirts might be a hit, mister bear.

35 You're in the treehouse. Visit us online at Treehouse on air dot com. All right. If I am ever caught smuggling these, it was against my will. South African police have arrested a twenty eight ear old man accused of trying to smuggle about one hundred and fifty live venomous scorpions through Cape Town's airport. Authorities say the arachnids were hidden in his luggage, better than being taped to your person, tucked between clothing.
19 And individually wrapped in plastic. The suspect was stopped after an intelligence led operation flagged him to officers. He's now facing charges related to illegal possession of wildlife and is expected to appear in court. I have questions about this, the first of which is when it says the suspect was stopped after an intelligence led operation flagged him to officers. To me, that basically says one of two possibilities. The first, more advanced one would be that there's some sort of smuggling ring that they were already investigating and they decided to nab this guy at the airport. Before you know, he took off and left the country, which which I guess is good, But it just seems like they would. It seems odd to go to that length for you know, animal smuggling.
06 But whatever the other is, and I wonder if this is a possibility that's just fancy speak for got flagged by the airport dog because intelligence led would be the dog smelled something, flagged him flagged and boom, hey look he's got scorpions. Also, I feel bad for the animals when they have to train for that. I mean, it makes I mean, there was a story about like a woman who got caught with thirty four turtles strapped to her legs, which that seems a lot more pleasant than scorpions. Right, ull Right, It's like, oh, he's got some kind of animals in his bag. Please let up ferrets. Please let it be ferrets.
47 Oh it's scorpions. Yeah, get me of the f out of here. Yeah. I'll tell you right now, if if I have thirty four turtles strapped to my legs, I'm really not going to be all that concerned if one breaks free. If it's thirty four scorpions, I'm not sleeping on that flight. Right. It's the sequel to snakes on a plane, it's except it might be worse. I don't have a fear of scorpions. I just don't like them. They're basically I mean, they're part of the irrachnid family. There there's spiders on steroids because they got the legs and then they got the tail that can sting you. They got the claws. And and it's like like the large like the king ones, the king scorpions, like the big black ones that if they're on tile, you can hear them because they tap.
33 That's how hard their exoskeletons are. They just give me, They just they oop me out. Yep. While I have never been stung by one, I have known people that have, and I have seen it. And in no way, shape or form do I want any. Part of that. I don't. I don't want any of that scorpion smoke. Mm hmmm, yep. I will say that if I have. A spider, a really big scared spider in front of me, or a really big scary scorpion in front of me, I think I'd rather go toe to toe with the spider. While keeping in mind, I know because I've seen I saw a show on this years ago about venomous you know critters. It's the smaller brown scorpions that pack more of a venomous punch than the large, black, scary looking ones.
25 So the king scorpions are scarier looking, but it's the smaller brown ones that you gotta you know, watch out for, which one is sure. To be really fixated on the black ones dand. They're the scary one. Why. Look, I would be afraid of a white scorpion too. Especially I don't know if it exists. If if such a thing exists, as an albino scorpion, like the albino snakes or rats, where it's it's white and it's got the red eyes, that's the one I will be most terrified of. I swear I have black friends. I have black scorpion friends.
10 I believe you. I had a brown one, but he died. Anyway, if you ever hear of me smuggling scorpions, it was against my will. I am a scorpion mule and I didn't want to do it. That being said, now there's really no good segue to this. Someone needs to dig up Paul Revere because there's a new warning he needs to give to the city of Boston. Paul Revere famously rode his horse and announced to the Boston area that the British are coming, right his famous ride. Well, someone needed to tell Boston that the Tartan Army was coming.
00 The Scots are coming, because apparently the Tartan Army the fans of the Scottish World Cup team have drank all the beer in Boston. That sounds like a logistical error to me. Uh yeah, I mean, let's let's not underestimate a soccer hooligans. Be the Scots, that's right, those are my people. Let's you knew they were coming. That's on you. I'm talking to some people, some girls that went to an Irish bar and were incredibly hungover, and like, listen, the Euros and especially anyone from the UK. They can drink, especially you know, they're drinking used to drinking stout Aguinness, you know, stout beers and stuff like Irish car bombs for breakfast. Yeah. They I say this as a recovering alcoholic who drink a lot. They're a formidable adversary when it comes to drinking. Be careful.
15 Oh god. Some of the biggest bars in Boston have completely run out of beer thanks to soccer fans from Scotland. The massive Tartan Army launched a legendary celebration across the city following their team's World Cup went over Haiti. That probably wasn't much of a surprise, so they were still going to celebrate, taking over local pubs, packing restaurants and marching all the way to Fenway Park. According to reports, the Scottish fans drank four times more beer than a normal Fourth of July crowd, and that forced the breweries to schedule emergency deliveries just to keep up. Hopefully, the bars are stocking up as Scotland is next scheduled to play Morocco at Foxborough on Friday night. So again, someone dig up Paul Revere and let everyone know that the Scots are here and let's not ever underestimate the UK drinking prowess again.
15 Come on, especially the Scots. M h. Like if this was like they're mentioning Haiti, Scotland, Morocco. If Haiti and Morocco fans drink a bar dry in Boston, I would be surprised when you tell me the Scottish fans drink four times more than a normal Fourth of July party. That tracks that should not be surprising to anybody. The Scots should be leaving Boston thinking, you know what, they almost had enough beer mm hm, as opposed to they ran out somewhere right after kickoff?
58 Right? I mean that that reminds me of one of my favorite jokes. Do Scottish guys walk past the bar, and that's the joke. They didn't. They didn't walk by it. They I gotcha. Oh man, keep that in mind. That's God's drink a lot, all right, last little bit here. So uh. The Japanese World Cup fans went viral earlier this week. Not the first time for them to do it, and why because they cleaned up after themselves. It's not just the fans that clean up after themselves. Even Japan's soccer team cleaned up after themselves in the locker room following their two two draw against the Netherlands on Sunday, japan soccer team left their Dallas Stadium locker room perfectly clean and organized.
02 Got tracks. The fans, of course, also went viral for cleaning up trash and the stadium stands cultural practice of returning things the way you found them, learned in youth. I'm still amazed that that's a cultural thing. That's a thing we were taught in kindergarten. But it kind of stopped there, like most of us don't do that as adults. When we leave stadiums, we leave them. Oh god, they looked like you know, war zones of concessions. Even when people leave hotel rooms. I've seen this, and it's like, I try not to leave a total mess. If I leave a hotel room, you know, I'll throw things in the trash, I'll pick up a little bit. I realize housekeeping is coming, but I don't want them walking in going oh my god, was Motley Crue in here? Or didn't Morgan Wallin do a show in here? I want it to be at least somewhat presentable to make it a little bit easier for them to do their job. But that that level of cultural put things back where you found them is an international. It's not an international. It's a national pride thing for them.
16 That and and they they live in such a high population density you have to yeah, you know. Photos captured the state of the team's locker room after their draw against the Netherlands. Chairs were stacked, trash was collected, towels were left neatly folded in the center of the room, and the pink and orange bibs that players and coaches were to indicate their stadium clearance were stacked by the door. I've been in that locker room after a game that the Cowboys played. It an'll look like that. Nothing is neatly folded in that locker room when the players leave, not.
58 Even not even not even the horse they're folded. Is that where your fear of the Black Ones comes from? Shut up, Trey. There was a movie that freaked me out as a kid. It had it had a whole lot of the big I'm gonna finish that sentence with. No, but I really don't want to tell you what the name of the movie was. I'm gonna I'm going to text it to you.
41 That's the name of the movie that had the big scary Black Ones. Nope, yeah, that is a hard pass, all right. Tree House super Plus is coming up next.
