We're starting at the ass end of things today!

First, a woman asks Reddit's AITA community if she's wrong for shaming her boyfriend over the skid marks he leaves in his underwear. He insists it's completely natural. We have questions. Lots of questions.

Then another woman has the opposite problem: her boyfriend refuses to go down on her, and she misses the attention. Is that a legitimate relationship complaint or just a matter of personal preference?

In celebrity birthdays, we compare the wildly different lives of Matthew McConaughey and Sean "Diddy" Combs. One is all right, all right, all right. The other definitely isn't.

And finally, could you survive three months stranded on a boat in the Pacific Ocean? Dan and Trey discuss whether they'd have the physical and mental strength to make it. Spoiler alert: probably not.

Reddit relationship disasters, questionable hygiene, celebrity birthdays, and survival at sea. Just another day in The Treehouse!

56 It is time to leave your worries outside and laugh with us inside the treehouse. I'm Dan O'Malley, along with Trey Trenholm. Today, inside the treehouse, we are going to go where not everyone gets to go. And we're going to start around the surface of where not everyone gets to go. Skid marks. I'm talking about skid marks. We all have them. I think most of us try to hide them if we're in a relationship, you know, like kind of a thing, like turn the underwear around or try to find a way to hide them or just, you know, clean your ass better so you're not leaving them behind.

36 Right. Yeah, I always found that was the best method. Get to the root of the problem. Yeah. But, you know, things happen. sometimes your body just kind of goes against you and you can clean as good as you can possibly clean. And sometimes your body will betray you just a little bit and leave a little bit of evidence behind that. We do in fact, all proof. Well, that's more, that's not a skid mark. That's the wreck. All right. Touche. Yeah. Uh, yeah. I mean, okay. There, you can miss a spot. Um, Especially if you go in public. Sometimes you can't get as tidy as you'd like.

28 And or if you live in a hot climate, like in Texas, a lot of moisture in the air, a lot of heat. Things happen. But also, I'll say this. If it happens on a regular basis, chances are you are not washing your ass. Uh-huh. Get in there and clean that thing, right? That's very simple. But what happens if you're in a relationship and she sees it? And not just sees it, but calls it out? Could get weird. And it got so weird for one person, they decided to jump on Reddit and say, am I the a-hole?

16 For. Was I being mean to confront my boyfriend over skid marks? This is one of those times where if you have to ask, then you might have been. Yeah. She says, my boyfriend told me I was shaming him over normal bodily functions. Was I being mean and confronting him over skid marks? She says, my boyfriend, 29, and I, 26 female, moved in together a month ago. I first noticed there was an especially pungent smell coming from the laundry basket, articulately the clothes he wears from the gym. I pick it up to put it in the washing machine and my finger touched something cold. I put my finger in an especially thick skid mark. I am, I am, nope, nope, nope, nope, nope, nope, nope.

13 I don't care what happens, what is said from this point forward. This is all entirely his fault. You're now. Yeah, we. Again, I feel like we quickly went from skid marks to the wreck because this sounds like more than skid marks. This sounds like he didn't wash his ass at all. Wasn't taught to wipe as a kid. And then proceeded to do some deep lunges, some sumo squats, all the things that really loosen things up at the gym. Just reading the first sentence, what she had said, I was like, nope, this is all bad. She says, I was shocked and ran to clean my hands. I came to realize almost all of his undies were like this. I tried I tried to ask him in a way that wouldn't make him angry. And he straight up laughed and said, that's normal for men. Stating that because he goes to the gym, it makes his poos liquefy and causes skid marks. No, no, no.

23 That's gaslighting. Or he's just straight up ignorant of the fact. No, you you you got you a dirty man and you need to clean him or you need to teach him to clean or he needs to be taught by someone to clean. He is dirty. He's a dirty, dirty man. He's making us all look bad. Do not believe him. A lot of us care about our asses. And how do you... Going to the gym makes him liquefy? This man has obviously been misled by someone somewhere. I don't understand that. Working out doesn't make your poo liquefy. And honestly, if your protein intake is really high... Sometimes it'll firm up your poos really, really hard to where you need to do something else to, you know, a balanced diet helps. But no, nothing about what he has said is factually accurate. No. If you go to the gym and you think that's the reason why you've got liquidy poos, no, there's something else going on. You're surprised.

27 I can't believe we're having this conversation. You're supposed to be having normal poos. You shouldn't be having squirts at the gym and thinking that it's normal and then leaving it around for your girlfriend who just moved in to find. That's disgusting. I understand that not everyone is taught proper washing techniques. And, but usually at a certain point, pretty quickly, if you see you have those and you get in the shower and then you go, well, I should wash back there.

13 And then you realize, Oh, Hey, that's probably why there's a problem. You know, the saying, if you see something, say something in this case, if you see something, Clean that thing. I don't know why, but ever since I was young and I saw like, I know you're going to turn this against me, but look, whatever. When you're young and you see old men's rust stains, my thinking was, I don't ever want to be that old man with the rust stains. So I'm pretty diligent back there. I don't even know if that's what causes the rust stains, but given their general location, I try to be really clean.

02 I'm going to let it go. It's just too easy. Thank you. Thank you. I appreciate it. It's not, it's not because I'm hanging out at lemon parties or anything. It's because I've been to the gym enough and been around older guys where I've seen some really gross stuff because they have no shame whatsoever. And it's just, so yeah, because of some of those. Are you at that age yet where you have no shame? No. I have all the shame still. I have plenty of shame. I'm good. You? I still have plenty of shame. I don't know if our generation is ever going to cross that threshold because I've been at the gym before in the locker room just trying to change clothes, right?

47 And inevitably there would be a guy just hanging brain Just not caring where it goes or who it hits. Because sometimes if they're older and it's a small locker room, things swing a little more freely. Or they feel like doing like a quick lunge in the towel or without the towel. I walked in on one guy at Larry North Fitness, Terry. I'm not making this up. I swear to God. I walked into Larry North Fitness one time and a guy had just gotten out of the shower. He was using the communal hair dryer to dry off his undercarriage. Mm-hmm. I have seen that before. That's, um, you know, the guy, maybe, uh, just being just down there.

34 Just, oh, there, there used to be a gym over, uh, mockingbird 75 is called premier club. At one point it was the, the cool place to work at. It's actually, I met Mark. It's where Cuban worked out before he even bought the Mavs when he was still before he was a billionaire, like he would be there playing basketball and it was, you know, over by SMU, hot people, you know, hot girls, everything else, but also, you know, fair share of old men. And that was, I saw that more than once of, yeah, they would grab the communal hairdryer and dry things off. But I don't think we will ever do that again. because I think we have been so scarred by seeing that, that we, we don't want to be that guy.

27 Yeah. Now maybe something flips in our brain when you hit like your seventies and it just, you really, then it, it just becomes, I don't give an F and I guess, I guess we'll all find out. We will. And then so will everybody else. Yeah. That's, Now that being said, I have a fair amount of shame, not because in my manhood, but because I am not a swinging Redwood tree kind of a thing. I'll tell you right now, if I was hung like a, like a black porn star, I might not care so much about the towel. I might just be like, Hey, just walking around. Here it is. Yeah, no doubt.

07 Yeah. And, and since I don't, I don't. Fair enough. Yeah. I'm with you on that. Yeah. If, If, uh, if people gasped when they, then I would probably, I would probably be nude a lot more. If in the locker room, it turns the corner before I do. I'm probably not going to bother to tell, but that's the difference in our generation versus the guys we're talking about older than us, because they didn't care if it was huge or not. No small, medium, large, whatever. It's just there. They just didn't care. Anyway. Oh, we should get back to skid mark Johnny here. This poor girl.

57 She says he acted like I was the one acting weird over a big deal. Now I'm curious. Does he wipe his ass after pooing? He says he cleans his ass in the shower. So why is it a problem? Because it will be cleaned anyway. But he just stands in the water, no scrubbing anywhere, and I bet if there was no sex, he wouldn't even be showering frequently. He says that's just what men do. And worrying too much about having a clean ass is gay. Oh, boy, here we go. And I should get over it. Is this normal for men, or am I the asshole? Honey, you are not the asshole. It is also not gay to clean your ass. It's just.

40 Clean... Human? Human. Just wash yourself. I mean, I know sometimes there's some cultural differences, but no. I mean, if you're living in a first world country and you have indoor plumbing and showers, you should be cleaning your ass. And or... This one even sounds more like, does he know how to wipe? I'm kind of wondering the same. Because from everything she has said in this, I don't think he does. I think he only cleans his butt sometimes in the shower and maybe not even.

23 Then. Yeah. Young lady, you need to find you a clean man. They're out there. You got a weird one and he's trying to convince you that you're wrong and you're not. Trust your instincts on this one. If it smells... It's kind of like the produce section at the store. If it smells bad, put it back. Yeah. If it's so bad that you're smelling it just from the laundry basket, that's not skid marks. That's crapping yourself, number one. Number two, this is also a big, huge reason why you should also, before you officially move in together, you should really spend a lot of time with each other that it simulates living together. So you catch these things before you're stuck dealing with them.

13 Yep. To me, I'm a big fan of relationships hitting certain benchmarks before you reach the next step, whatever that is. And they're a little bit different for everybody, but for the sake of this conversation, let's just use marriage or even living together as the goal, right? That's the end point, okay? Everything leading up to that You should go through some certain, you know, your relationship should hit certain benchmarks, like having spent the night at each other's place, right? Having spent more than one night in a row at each other's place.

56 So, and I agree with you. My number one benchmark is you get through the holidays together. And that's another one. Number two. Before you decide to make the next big committed leap in the relationship, you need to go through at least one set of holidays. Yes. Number two, and I'm kind of checking these off because these are things, you know, why I thought Brandy and I, you know, we could move in together and work out is spend a long period of time together. Like it was a long, but for instance, we had that ice storm where we were closed quarters for five days. And that to me was a very good litmus test of, you know, how do you, how simpatico are you? And, uh, you know, and we were, we never had one even awkward moment. Uh, but yeah, stuff like that where, you know, everyone's ins and outs, you discuss things. Um, but yeah, there, so there's, you spend enough time together with it. You don't have these types of surprises.

02 Exactly. I also believe you should travel together. Yeah. And I also believe, especially if you're leading to marriage kind of thing, everything we've just said, plus go through at least one full calendar year. That way you can see this person through all four seasons. And if they have their own specific set of seasons that they also go through, at least that way you know. And I say at least one calendar year. At least one. For marriage, I absolutely agree with you. Yeah. Along with everything else that we talked about. Like, you got to be able to travel together and rely on one another. You got to be able to know whatever.

44 There aren't going to be any weird surprises. You're going to be locked up together for a number of days in a row, like in an ice storm type situation. Yeah. And holidays are going to be included. You hit those benchmarks, and you're not going to be surprised by a skid mark or two. No. And thus, your relationship will be happy. Well, maybe not happy, but you'll at least know what you're in for. No surprises. Yeah, until she disappears. And that's the last one. It's just one day. She keeps showing up. That's how you know what's working. If one day you wake up and she's gone and you never hear from her again, well, that sucks, but not your fault.

29 Go ahead. Now, are you ready for the easiest segue in treehouse history? Yes. All right. So you get one girl who can't stand her boyfriend's skid marks to another girl who wants anal so bad she's mad at her boyfriend for not giving it to her. You got one girl who is very anti-butt and another girl that wants all the butt. Go from an outie to an innie? Yes. That's exactly what we're getting here. Uh. I'm a 32-year-old female, and I miss my exes just because of anal. Wow. Yeah, I mean, this is a doozy.

17 She says, I'm 32 and a loving long-term relationship with my 34-year-old boyfriend, but I desperately miss one thing from my exes, and that is anal. She says, my current boyfriend hates the idea of it, and it's fully off the table. No butt plush, no dildos, no, just no butt. Holy F, I miss it. Man, she really does miss it. She says, I had one ex who wasn't into anal, but oh my God, he was amazing. This is so weird how different people have different preferences. She says, I had one ex who wasn't into full anal, but oh my God, he was amazing at rim jobs and fingering my bobo during the whoopee. she says, another ex would straight up do me in the back door whenever I wanted, and more than once, DP with him in the back and a toy in the front, she said, and it was honestly some of the best sex I ever had, even though he was a terrible person. He was a terrible person, but the DP was amazing.

31 Trade-offs. It really is. It's what relationships are all about. She says, sometimes I create throwaway accounts or anonymous accounts to seek men out for it, but so far I've stopped myself from actually physically meeting them. I know that would count. as cheating but I really do love my boyfriend okay you know what let's play this out hypothetical Trey if you were just real I if you were real I why can I not say this I'm combining the words really and anti. So let me... If you were really against something, sexually, about the girl you were dating who had been green flags across the board and you're hitting all these other benchmarks for relationship success, but she was really into the thing that you're not into, what would you do?

32 Well, it kind of depends what it is. It really does. I know. It's like you really need more context, right? Because. Like if it's butt stuff, then it's like, you know what? Get in there. But if it's like seal me up in latex for the weekend, no, I'm not doing that. Is this how you got into strap on play? Not in the strap on play. Thank you very much. I don't care how many jokes you make about it. It's not going to make it true. Okay. Or, or even how many hints I dropped to my wife. I mean, just once. I'm kidding. I would. In this scenario, I would absolutely be if. If she was that into it, I would absolutely do it. Yeah, I mean.

17 But it's also easy for you to say it because you're not anti backdoor. And I don't think most men are. I think most men would be like, you want to do that? Cool. And that they'd be all for it. But that's why I feel like you need like some different context here, because in this situation, that guy that she is with clearly is not into it or whatever reason. Fine. I'll give you a good example. Uh, in general, I'm not that into sex during their time of the month. Okay. Understood. Yep.

57 Now, oral off limits, not going down, but just regular sex. You don't want to look like an extra in Braveheart. Yeah, no, I don't. Or a clown. Uh, But I've had a couple of exes that, for some reason, they really enjoyed that. And if, okay, I mean, you know, so, I mean, it doesn't, like, just gross me out or anything. I mean, like I said, not my favorite, not the best of, you know, when you have to clean things up. But they were really into it. Okay. Yeah. I'll do it.

40 You can power through it. Yeah. Yeah. And it's not like you're coming out of there and looking like, you know, uh, Carrie from Stephen King's book. Oh, wow. Oh yeah. So yeah, it's all about perspective. I mean, look, if, if, if your other half is really into it and you want to make him happy, then chances are you'll, I'll be try it out, whatever it is, unless it really is just a thing that you just cannot do. And I mentioned like the latex thing. I don't know why I'm just going to stay on that, but because to me, it's an easy thing that I've seen on like documentaries or TV or just weird stuff that some weird that I'm sorry, but if you're into that, you're weird. That is something I will never do because I'm kind of claustrophobic already and I don't want to be buried alive.

36 And it's certainly definitely not a sexual thing to be zipped up in some plastic for someone's supposed sexual gratification. That is not sexy to me. That is terrifying to me. I am claustrophobic. And there is no... You want to talk about... No. That would... That would fry my brain. If I'm having to breathe through a straw to maintain life, I am not getting hard. No, no. Honestly, just like most pain related things. I'm not going to be in on. There are very, there are some exceptions, but most of the really painful stuff. I'm like, no, you're not going to cut me. You're not going to physically beat me. Cause then I was reminding me of when I was a kid and that's not good for anybody. And, um, don't you dare stomp on my balls.

36 Yeah, no, I, I, yeah, yeah, yeah. You have to be gentle down there. Uh, no, these are my rules. Um, yeah, no, I, I, I, it has never happened to me, but occasionally you hear the story of like, Well, it would really turn me on to see you kiss another guy. Too bad. Not all fantasies come true, baby. Even though Trey and I have known each other for a very long time, we ain't doing that. No. Unless... What if it was Salma Hayek? Yeah.

32 Even, uh, uh, no, I, I don't. Just the fact that you're squirming at all. It means that there is a price. I mean, Salma Hayek, that's a, that's a really, that was a damn good person to throw out there. If, if we were, if it was like, we'd have to be done with the show. Cause I don't, I could never look at you again. All right. I'm going to set the scene here. You ready? You and I are walking down the street in Mexico, and all of a sudden, all these cars start crashing into one another, and we look up. We have been thrust into the scene in Desperado, where Salma Hayek makes her grand entrance, and she's walking across the street through traffic, and all the guys' heads are turning, looking at her, and they all run into each other in the intersection.

25 And you and I are standing next to each other on the sidewalk, and she comes up to us, right to us. She looks at you, and she looks at me, and then she takes both our heads, like the meme, and says, now kith. Remembering what she wore in Desperado. No, there has to be a guarantee of I'm going to get to play with those things. I mean, there are two things. Either I'm going to get to nail Salma Hayek, or... Listen, I'll be the first one to admit, there's a price for just about anything. You throw out a billion dollars... And I can, you know, that'll buy me a lot of therapy. I can do a lot of things. All right.

06 All right. Here's the new scenario. Guaranteed sex with Salma Hayek if you and I kiss. And this is just for you, Trey. I'm a married man. I can't be involved in this. Or a billion dollars. Which one would you want? Oh, a billion dollars. You and I still have to kiss in the billion dollar scenario. I understand. Okay. Okay. And for the record, in the billion-dollar scenario, I'm involved too, and I'm going to give you the tongue of your life. That's fine. I'll throw you $ 50 million for your therapy. And I may even throw in some free cuppage.

Give them a call. 833-COOK-DFW. All right, let's get serious. Today is Wednesday, November 4th, 2026. Let's celebrate today with some celebrity birthdays. Taylor Tomlinson is 33.

17 She is a comedian. She's the former host of After Midnight. I don't know if they had different hosts on After Midnight, but I never watched the show. What is After Midnight? It was a comedy show. I think it was on Comedy Central or something, but it was a funny show. I saw clips of it occasionally. I didn't even know who the host was. was. I guess she was one of them or the only one. But I first discovered Taylor Tomlinson just on social media clip that came across my feed like a year or so ago. I think she's phenomenal. Hysterical comedian. She is 33 today. And in a couple of the more recent clips that I've seen of her, I think she's bi. So some of her material can kind of talk about relationship with guys and girls, which is kind of an interesting perspective. But she is 33 today. Trey, I highly recommend if you want to look up a couple of clips or a special or two that she has on Netflix, I think. Very, very funny.

18 Taylor Tomlinson, 33 today. Other birthdays today. Former. Defensive tackle, five-time Pro Bowler, two-time Super Bowl champion with New England, Vince Wilfork is 45. I'd like to stop down and say congratulations to Vince Wilfork for making it to the age of 45 on a body that most people would have died with before 40. Celebrity chef and TV host Curtis Stone is 51. This is a guy that is one of the enigmas. This is one of the guys that, you know, like certain modern day women have unrealistic expectations with what they want in men. He checks every single box. He's over six feet tall. He makes well over six figures a year. He's really, really good looking. And he's a freaking chef.

16 And he's Australian. So he has the accent. And he has an Australian accent. If you and Curtis Stone walk into a room full of women, you will not leave with a single one of them. He will. He's six, four. Yeah, no, he's. He's all of them. Yeah, I hate him. Actually seems like a really nice guy, which makes it even worse. So Curtis Stone, 51 today. Other birthdays, of course. Bethany Frankel is 56. Really? One of the breakouts of the real housewives of New York City. I honestly, I would have thought she was older than that.

56 I concur. Like, I would have believed 66, I think more than 56. Yeah. Yeah, especially with all the work she's had done. I just, I thought she was older. Ooh. Speaking of all the work she's had done, I saw a random commercial video yesterday for St. Jude's Medical Center. Love St. Jude's. They do amazing work. Marlo Thomas has been a spokesperson for them for many, many years. That's because her dad founded it. She got some work done or something and it was scary.

40 She's got to be close to 80. 88. 88. Yeah. The fact that she's still like, I, I know I have seen, maybe I haven't seen the latest one, but I have seen one. I mean, obviously I didn't realize she was that old. Yeah. Uh, the one I, the one I saw last night, right. I was just, Ooh, Ooh, Ooh, stop with the filler. It's like, she's, she's turning into like, kind of like one of those cat ladies that we saw back in the day, like from the eighties, nineties, when they get too much work done, it's that mixed in with today's over plumped filler. It just, uh, I don't understand the mentality where you eventually look in the mirror and go, yes, that's what I wanted.

27 Yeah. I've yeah. Just the fact that you don't see any wrinkles doesn't mean you look better. And I don't mean this to be a political jab. It just, it's just something that I've seen. And I'm sure you have to what some people refer to as the Mar-a-Lago face. Like, I don't know what, it's basically a slight against some Republican women for some of the work they've had done. While keeping in mind, there are plenty of liberals that have had terrible work done. But there are some really weird examples of some of the Republican women that have had really crazy work done on their face. One of the ones I think of the most is Kimberly Guilfoyle, who is a beautiful woman. And you look at her now and it's like, what the hell happened?

15 I think the OG on that whole deal for me is Meg Ryan. Yeah. But yes, and it's funny, you started saying that the first person who popped into my mind was Kimberly Guilfoyle. She was absolutely stunning. And she now looks unrecognizable, almost. I mean, and if she was a 10 before, she's a five now. I mean, it's just, it's, it's awful to look at. I mean, you occasionally see stories about, I see them on Reddit about how men who are like, you know, I don't recognize my wife anymore. She's had so many fillers and everything else done. You know, some Botox is one thing, but yeah, it's got, some of that's gotten way too far. The one, I mean, obviously, and she took, you know, an absolute ass whipping in the, in the news and especially on social media, but Michael Dell's wife, Um, she was very attractive woman. And now it's like, and I think I, I, I have a feeling part of it is if you lose, you know, what are the things, if you lose too much weight, you know, your fat does fill up. It's the natural filler.

32 So if you lose a bunch of weight, it's going to change the way your face looks. And then you have artificial fillers put in. It just makes things look weird. Uh, and I think that's what happened to a lot of people with GLP ones. Um, But yeah, I think her name's Susan. I don't know. I think you're right, Susan Dell, yeah. But I remember seeing her in the press conference with Trump, and I was like, who the hell is that? I recognized Michael Dell. When I saw that, I said, what the hell is that? I was with you because I knew who Michael Dell was. I obviously know who Trump is, and I didn't know who the blonde thing was. Next time, I'm just like, oh, that's her? And then seeing a before photo that I was like, okay, that's what I remembered what I thought she looked like. I thought it was a completely different woman.

19 I mean, and it physically does look like it. But yeah, that one was a scary one. I just. Yeah. Like, I'm pretty sure I had a nightmare about that one. Anyway. Okay. Back to birthdays. Things that are usually happy. Is Matthew McConaughey still considered the king of Austin, Trey, or was he ever? King? I don't know. Austin royalty? Sure. All right. Well, Austin royalty, Matthew McConaughey is 57 today. All right. Also 57, Sean Diddy Combs.

06 Talk about dichotomy of birthdays. Yeah. One guy's life is still going. Ritty darn. All right. The other guy is not so much. Uh, uh, and speaking of, this is a good balance. This is a good opportunity for balance about how scary we were talking about. We were talking about how scary Susan Dell's face is now. Right. On the, uh, political flip side of that, Kathy Griffin and her face are 66. Oh, talk about nightmares. Oh my God. Yeah. Um, Ralph Macchio is 65 today, the Karate Kid. And he still looks 35. I was about to say, yeah, he still looks 20 years younger. He got the good genes.

54 Host of Survivor, Jeff Probst is 65. You know, I think that will be one of the things I will go to my grave most prideful and most proud of. I've never seen an episode of Survivor. You know what's really sad, though? I, too, have never seen an episode of Survivor, but I have seen Jeff Probst's dick. If that photo is real from the internet years ago, you could hold an entire tribal council around that thing.

38 Okay, I'm going to take your word for that because things I don't want to see for 100, Alex. Actually, you might. It's pretty impressive. It is the ultimate immunity tool. You'll be better off. I'm saying that as unbiasedly as I possibly can. And as you can tell, Trey has no argument against it. You know, what do you want me to say? I'm right there with you, bud. For a billion dollars, I'll kiss you. And I absolutely agree. We're better than anything else on your radio. All right. So last part here inside the tree house today, it is important that we talk about a great story of survival. I'm stunned by this. Five people were found alive after three months, a drift at sea. Um, How many did they start with?

45 I mean, that's an excellent question. Trey, you sent me the story and I've only made it through the headline. No, that's, I mean, I think it was a family of husband, wife, two kids and whoever was driving the boat. Captain Ron. I mean, there are some scenarios that I simply cannot wrap my mind around But being, and the way, now, if this is a bigger boat than they're making it out to be, and, you know, it had like an underground, you know, part, and, okay, I still can't imagine 90 days at sea, just a drift. Especially, most people cannot, have you ever seen the picture of the earth from like the other side, where it's just almost all Pacific Ocean?

40 Yes. I don't think we as humans can truly appreciate the size of the Pacific Ocean. Yeah. I mean, if you really want to get into how minuscule we are, it's like the plane that went missing in 2014, 2016, whatever. And people are like, why can't you find it? it's a needle. It is the proverbial needle in a haystack. In fact, it's like a needle in a hundred haystacks. Yeah. Even though they kind of had an idea of where to look, they still couldn't find it because it's that damn big.

21 I mean, yeah, that's, you know, even, even if you, if you have a transponder signal and everything else, you have to deal with currents and all this other things where you're lucky. If you can narrow it down to about five square miles. Which, yeah, And that in itself is pretty hard to search as well. Yeah. So now imagine you and your family adrift in the big expanse of the Pacific Ocean. That's exactly what happened. I don't know if it said it on the front end, but this was supposed to be an hour boat ride from one island to another. An hour. Supposed to be a one-hour tour. Mm-hmm.

02 Five people, including two children, have been rescued after drifting more than 3,400 miles across the Pacific in a small boat for nearly three months. The group was among nine passengers who left the Micronesian Islands of Murillo and Ruo on July 30th for a one-hour boat trip. A storm blew them off course, triggering a 10-day search by the U.S. Coast Guard, Navy, and Air Force before the operation was abandoned. On Sunday, villagers on Fanning Island in Kiribati spotted the survivors and brought them ashore. They received medical care and were expected to be transferred to nearby Kiribati Island for further treatment. Fanning Island, also known as Tabiran, is a sparsely populated atoll in Kiribati's remote Lion Islands. I've never heard of any of these places. Far out in the Central Pacific with few medical services and limited transport links.

57 The fate of the other four passengers remains unknown. Their families in Micronesia have been contacted, while Chuk Governor Alexander Narun was asked for diplomatic talks to bring the survivors home. Three months adrift in the Pacific, started with nine people, ended with five. And we don't know what happened to those other passengers, but whoa. I'm with you. That is... That is a level of commitment to live that I don't know if you could ever truly understand. I don't know if most people could go three days in those conditions, in that environment, let alone three months.

41 I have so many questions. First of all, what did you do for water? There are ways that you can filter ocean water. What that process is, I don't know. Yes, there are, but the fact that.... You can catch rainwater? I guess, maybe. I don't know. There are all sorts of questions, but you clearly were having to ration out water to tablespoons a day, probably. I mean, you're right. And I guess if you're lucky, you had some fishing...

24 stuff on board and could catch food. But I, I, you said it best. That is a commitment to live. I don't know that I have. No, it like the story doesn't say how small of a boat. It just says a small boat. I mean, that's, that's pretty subjective. Yeah. Nine people that had to benefit. I mean, it's not a dingy, uh, but I don't know mentally. if you really, like we were talking about, if you grasp this sheer size of the Pacific ocean and how, you know, you have no idea, they, no one has any idea really where to look for you. I, I don't know how you just don't just go. And maybe that's what the four of people did. They're like, F it. I can't do this anymore.

11 I just jumped overboard. I'm like, I'm out. Yeah. Oh, look, there's a great white. Peace this seems good. No I you know yeah I'd rather kiss you Dan. I don't think I don't I don't know if that's the survival tactic I'm on board with Trey but I will say surviving. Really you'd rather be three months at sea than drift at sea then kiss me. Put me in the situation first and then i can give you a more solid answer.

56 You're a bastard hang on what so i'm not that bad looking no you're not trust me there there are way worse people i could be stuck having to make out with you know in a kind of a situation and and it actually helps the fact that you don't have facial hair so i can at least kind of pretend a little bit that you might be kind of feminine um Basically, I'm just trying to stretch this out just long enough so you can see what it truly is to survive something. Look at your phone. If you could survive this, look at your phone, you could survive anything. Now you too have seen Jeff Probst's dick.

48 You're right. He is one that would not be clothed at the gym. No, he would not, not ever. I'm surprised he ever wears pants on Survivor. That should, I mean... I mean, if you got that, you will find that right there is the will to live. Because you don't want that to go to waste. You're like, this needs to get back to the mainland. In fact, that may be what sustains you for the three months of drift at sea. Just ration that out a little, my little. That's his Wilson. That's everybody's Wilson on the phone. Save Wilson!

29 All right, there's some things you can't unsee. Welcome to the club, buddy. No, thanks, man. You'll never, I mean, like I said, I've never seen an episode of Survivor, but I've seen that. Yeah. Now I get to explain that to my wife when she sees when she has to borrow my phone next. Anyway, we'll see you next time right here on a very sexy episode of the treehouse show. That is some serious immunity.
